Larry LaPrise Dies at 93

This one gets me everytime when the email comes around labeled "sad news"....

Larry LaPrise Dies at 93

With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person, which almost went unnoticed last week.

Larry LaPrise, the man who wrote "The Hokey Pokey," died peacefully at age 93. The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin. They put his left leg in . . . and then the trouble started.

Shut up. You know it's funny.

As someone who owns both the Hokey Pokey Elmo AND the Hokey Pokey Barney, I mourn a contributing figure to my insanity.

Welcome AMG! I'm glad you laughed. I always think it's a serious email, too. Gets me every time.

Ubi, I DREAD the day I have to purchase one or both of those. Although I think Barney will never be introduced to my son.... if that is possible. He freaks me out, the big purple oaf.
